I just want to say that although some other reviewers found this book seriously lacking in length and in plot, I enjoyed reading it. The plot has been detailed in other reviews so I will skip that and remind the readers that Ms. Davidson is the author and she is the one who decides what happens to Betsey Taylor, Vampire Queen, not us. I am sorry if you miss some characters who were killed, I loved them too, especially a certain reclaimed feral vampire. That he died in the previous book upset me also but life - unlife? - goes on. Write her a letter and tell the author what you think.
What is the problem with the length of the book? I am also a very fast reader but the book was long enough to take care of the plot situation and let us know that something big and messy was coming up in the next one.
I love Betsey and find her hilarious. I look forward to many more books in the series. When one arrives I know I will have a good time reading it.
