I think most are forgetting that these are books from fantasy. It's a different world than ours, so the lives in the books are different. You can't make the book personal about how we view things in our lives because the AB world isn't real! I have read all of LKH's books and liked or loved all of them. There are only 3 of the AB stories that are not on my keeper shelf, but I still like them enough to keep checking them out of the library.

In the ending to this story, she doesn't just beat the vampire by giving him an orgasm. She beat him because she destroyed the only reason he had for being pissed off. He was tortured and lost a huge part of what being a male is, was disfigured, and looked at with disgust for a long time. He couldn't handle that she was his enemy and she could give him what he most desired. Sometimes things are deeper than what you read.
One of my favorite parts was when she broke down and made Truth and Wicked promise to kill her if she bacame like Belle or was taken over by Marmee Noir. Lots of the talking parts are there to give you insight to the internal battles. Eventually all of it will come together. Parts that may look incomplete will come back and surprise you. And others that stay that way, might be because you should logically be able to know what happened. Like with Paula Chu, they wanted to hold her for the deaths, but the ending showed it wasn't her, so naturally she will go back home. No harm done.

Overall, I loved this book. Lots of readers might be getting tired of LKH, but I am still loving her. All readers are different. No author is perfect, so I won't hold grammer mistakes against her or when she has a less than awesome book every now and again. I love her writing style and I am looking forward to reading all her books in the future.
